Gary’s Blog – May 2017

Well, the time is almost here. Sue and I will be taking some long service leave from the middle of May. We will miss the Church and will be praying for Josh, Jeremy and Richard as they minister to each section of our Church – general, families and Chinese fellowship.  They will, as always, need your prayers, especially Josh as he covers my work as well as his own.

Sue and I would value your prayers too as we will meet new people and have many opportunities to share our lives and stories with them.  We plan to take a cruise which will take us to Scandinavia (and hopefully see the Northern lights), catch up with friends in UK – but wherever we are, we pray that God will open the doors of opportunity and we will be bold enough to take them up.

Remember to support those who are not well, or grieving, seek out new people who come to our church – they may be looking for a new church home, welcome those who look neglected, speak to those who are awkwardly having morning tea and standing alone.  I know many of you do these things, but if you have slackened off a bit, consider looking out for others.  Even our brothers and sisters can be hurting and if we don’t engage in meaningful conversations, we will never know.  Be prepared to pray with people and encourage one another as you seek to serve Him.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship”. Romans 12:1 (NIV)

May we all desire to walk more closely with Him, to be obedient to His Word and be willing to use our Gifts and talents for His purposes.

See you when we get back.
