Pastor Josh took up the position of Associate Pastor of Cairns Baptist Church at the beginning of 2006. Trained as a plumber, Josh thought his future was going to be in full-time ministry with one of the Christian missions that support churches in practical ways. During his final year of Bible College God made it clear He was calling Josh to serve as Assistant Pastor at Cairns Baptist Church.
In February 2018, Josh was inducted as the Senior Pastor of Cairns Baptist Church, taking over from his father Gary, who had served the church faithfully as the senior pastor for the previous 15 years.
Josh is married to Ginny and has four children.
